JEAN WILLIAM

Jean William Silva, born on November 20, 1985, in Sertãozinho, São Paulo, is a renowned Brazilian tenor. Raised in the small town of Barrinha, also in the interior of São Paulo, he stands out as one of the main figures in classical music in Brazil. Sponsored by Maestro João Carlos Martins, Jean has performed for illustrious figures such as Pope Francis and Prince Albert II of Monaco, in addition to performing in several countries in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Jean William was raised by his grandparents in Barrinha, where he began his musical career influenced by his grandfather, Joaquim Apolinário da Silva, who played string instruments. From an early age, Jean sang at masses at the local church and, as a teenager, he became the lead singer of a rock band, in addition to performing at weddings and funerals. He won a music competition that provided him with an opera singing course, where he began to explore his potential in classical music.

Jean William became the tenor soloist of the Orquestra Filarmônica Bachiana SESI-SP, under the baton of maestro João Carlos Martins. This partnership began in 2009 and has been a milestone in his career, allowing him to grow and stand out even more on the music scene.

POPE FRANCIS

One of the most memorable moments of his career was singing for Pope Francis at World Youth Day, in Rio de Janeiro, in 2013. Jean performed "Jesus Christ, You Are My Life" for more than 1 million people, including the Pope , fulfilling a childhood dream.

INTERNATIONAL

Jean has performed at prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center, in New York, and the Monte Carlo Opera, in Monaco. He has also sung for former Brazilian presidents and the current president, demonstrating his reach and international recognition.

RECOGNITION

In 2022, Jean won his first biography, "The Opera Summary – How Jean William grew up and won through music", written by Elcio Padovez. In 2023, he received the title of citizen of São Paulo and citizen of Ribeirão-Pretano, reaffirming his cultural and social impact in Brazil.
